The Difference between Congregational Worship and a Concert

I have'nt posted for quite a while, but the blogosphere has had some good articles about church music. I will be sharing some of these with you over the next few weeks. Here is a link to a really helpful one on the difference between a corporate worship service and a concert:;utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+between2worlds+%28Between+Two+Worlds%29.

At Family of Faith, we have worship services, and we occasionally have concerts. However, we do not want to confuse the two.

Don’t Neglect the Horizontal Dimension of Singing and Worship

I have a great privilege: to stand in front of the congregation and hear them sing. We sing to God, primarily (vertically), but this blogger makes a good point about singing to each other (horizontally):

July is "Best of" month

During the month of July, instead of learning a new Hymn of the Month (or, HOTM, as we call it for short), we will be singing some of the FOFC Classics. Why I am the Director of Music, not the Worship Leader
